The passing of former IPL member, Mark McIntosh
I have some more sad news for the IPL family.
Mark “The Gangsta Chef” McIntosh passed away in his sleep Saturday morning, November 30th.
Mark worked as a chef at the US Army Songnam Golf Course, and then at the Main Post Club and the Dragon Hill Lodge.
He joined the Itaewon Pool League in 2005, playing with the Seoul Pub Team. He also played out of the old King Bar, and then in 2007, he started playing out of 3 Alley as part of the original (and notorious) Wild Hogs. He was active in the league until the end of 2009, when he moved to Waekwan Base
He kept up with the goings on of the Itaewon Pool League through friends who were still active in the league. Those who knew Mark will tell you that he was a great friend and a great team mate. He will be remembered and missed.
Mark was five days shy of his 61st birthday when he passed. He is survived by his wife of two years here in Korea, and by an adult son and an adult daughter in the United States, as well as several siblings.
A wake is tentatively scheduled for three days beginning Tuesday, December 3rd in Ansan.
Rest in peace, Mark.
Mark McIntosh – December 5th, 1958 ~ November 30th, 2019

End of Season Doubles Trophy Tournament
This Saturday, we demand you to participate in a festival of cuemanship, or cuewomanship, on the green baize (or whatever hideous colour the bars have deemed it fit to decorate a pool table with). Basically, it's our End of Season Doubles Trophy Tournament.
Date: Saturday, November 9th
Venues: Hidden Cellar & Phillie's
Sign Ups: 3:00 - 3:45pm in Hidden Cellar
Entry: Free to those who have played 3 separate weeks of this season.
Incentives: Trophies for those placed in the top 3 (one each, we are very generous)...and the orgy of self congratulation and adulation you'll feel as you pick up those trophies on the night of the Banquet from the sexiest presenter we can find...probably myself or Lenny, or if you're very lucky...Russell!
The best players in the league will be paired with with those who love to drink on Wednesday night and see 2 pool tables instead of 1...or something like that!
Hope to see many of you on Saturday.

Update: Full Details
It has come to our attention that Ryan "Briggy" Malabrigo, an IPL member since 2007, is seriously ill in hospital with liver failure. For those unaware of Briggy; he has played and worked in so many of the bars around Itaewon, he is in the Top 100 Players of All Time in the IPL and is always pleasant and jovial. After speaking with his mother, we have decided that we will hold a charity tournament on Saturday, October 12th to raise some funds to help with his treatment.
Sign Ups: Wolfhound from 3pm-3:45pm
Venues: Wolfhound & JJ's
Entry: 10,000won (with 5,000won buy back in to loser's bracket)
Tournament: Upper and Lower Brackets
Calcutta and Raffle: Organised from 4pm
The exact venue and times of the tournament are to be decided in the next few days but this will include Upper and Lower Brackets being separated, a Calcutta bidding process and a raffle.
Raffle tickets will be on offer from tomorrow evening (October 2nd) so please bring some cash with you and support Briggy in anyway you can.
More details will follow as soon as possible.
