Charity

This season the league will be donating money to an orphanage called Myung Jin Children's Welfare Center, which is located near Gubeundari Station (굽은다리역) on Seoul subway line 5 (in Cheonho Dong in the southeastern part of Seoul).

The center will use our donation on scholarships for the kids. A speaker from the charity will come to the banquet to say a few words about the place and thank the league members for their contribution.

The orphanage has also asked if league members might donate some simple items of which the center is in short supply.

They have given me a Christmas Wishlist, so if anybody wants to donate any of the following, there will be a drop box provided in the Crown Hotel on the night of the banquet:

Priority items in short supply:

Toilet paper

Shower gel (not hair shampoo, as it is a luxury the center does not have enough funds to replenish)

Laundry detergent (preferably liquid detergent with fabric softener)

Other items:

Toothbrushes

Socks (featuring cartoon characters such as The Simpsons or Doraemon)

Toys

A tin of beans

There are 99 kids at the center; 52 boys and 47 girls.

- Middle school students: 26 (Boys 16; Girls 10)
- High school students: 20 (Boys 8; Girls 12)

Playoffs: 1st round

The 1^st round of the playoffs will be played this Sunday, Nov 25, 4pm.

1. Home teams are responsible for their bars being open and available for practise from 3:00pm this Sunday for themselves or 3:30pm for the visiting team. Matches start at 4pm.

2. Captains cannot enter the playoff match scores. Please drop the score sheets at Bless U after the match, so the scores can be entered by a league official.

3. JR Velvet Fingerz need to find an alternative venue or time for their match against Scrooge Pub Wonky Triangles. Please agree with your opponents and let the league President know in advance. The following bars do not have home teams in the 1^st round and may be amenable to hosting a 1^st round match: Friend's; VFW Canteen; Dolce Vita; Old Town; Flow; Spy Club; Phillie's.

Playoffs: 2nd round

The 2^nd round of the playoffs will be played this Wednesday, November 28, 7.30pm.

1. Home teams are responsible for their bars being open and available for practise from 6:30pm this Wednesday for themselves or 7:00pm for the visiting team. Matches start at 7:30pm.

2. Captains cannot enter the playoff match scores. Please drop the score sheets at Bless U after the match, so the scores can be entered by a league official.

3. Bulldog Boneyard Bruisers need to find an alternative venue or time for their match against Phillie's Pheasants. Please agree with your opponents and let the league President know in advance. (This match will take place at Dolce Vita.)
