Bob Denny Sportsmanship Award Poll is now open
The poll for the Bob Denny Sportsmanship Award is now open in "Off the Break/Polls".
I sincerely hope that people actually vote on it this season, since only 15 people voted last season. It is a nice looking award, and it would be nice if enough people voted on it to make it a meaningful award.

Important dates
For some reason, some of you commoners feel that I, the president of this league, should post some important dates, such as when the playoffs begin, when the banquet is, when the end-of-season money tournament is, etc...
I don't see where you all got the idea that you had the need, or the right, to know these things. Some of you have even contacted me individually. This blatant disregard for royalty has got to stop. It really cuts into my being-aloof time, as well as preventing me from being unavailable to and disconnected from the common rabble.
However, while sitting here in my palatial presidential suite of the IPL ivory tower, it has been suggested -by lesser people, yes, but people just the same – that I should, indeed, post these dates.
Very well.
Playoffs begin Sunday, June 1st (4pm start time, unless otherwise arranged)
**The end-of-season money tournament will be Saturday, June 7th 3:00 to 3:45 pm sign-ups**
Playoffs end Wednesday, June 11th
The banquet will be held Friday, June 13th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Crown Hotel
Organizational meeting for next season (tentative) will be Wednesday, July 9th
Next season will begin (tentative) Wednesday, July 16th
Okay, now, hopefully, I can go back to ignoring you all, and all of your needs.

Change of date for end-of-season singles tournament
It has been brought to my attention that our singles tournament was scheduled for the same day as the dart league "banquet" (and I use that term loosely).
Since it is quite apparent that the Itaewon Pool League is expected to cow tow to the dart league, we are changing the date of the end-of-season singles tournament.
The end-of-season singles tournament will be Saturday, June 7th
In case anyone is wondering, I think that this disturbing trend of the IPL having to follow the dart league schedule has got to stop. If it came down to a rumble, I think we could take them. We would need to wear protective eye-wear, but once we survive their initial salvo of flying darts, we should be able to beat them into submission with our cue sticks. Of course, we would need to watch our backs from those potential turncoats who play for both leagues. Perhaps internment camps need to be set up prior to open conflict.

Ghost Team has Dropped Out
Due to unforeseen problems with fielding a team each week, the Ghost team has had to forfeit three matches in a row. In accordance with the league rules, after forfeiting three consecutive weeks, the team must be dropped from the league.
As a result, all matches scheduled against Ghost, starting with Week 15 (April 23rd) will be scored as a bye, meaning that the opposing team will be given a score based on their average match points throughout the season, with no bonus point awarded for a win.
The teams affected by this in the upcoming weeks are:
May 14th - Bull and Barrel Rising Stars
May 21st - Sin Bin Laffing Devils
May 28th - Bulldog Rackem and Crackem
We apologize for any inconvenience, but sometimes stuff happens.
