People want to know why there is no prize money for this mid season tourney.

The captains voted to cap the prize money that could be paid out during a season. They left the apportioning of the prize money at the discretion of the executive committee. The executive committee decided to revert to the system that was implemented for many years—viz, making the mid-season tourney a trophy tourney (in which ratings count) and the end-of-season tourney a money tourney (in which ratings do not count).
